USA Dance Los Angeles County

USA Dance Los Angeles County invites you to our Annual Membership Meeting and Election for our 2012-2013 Board!

The meeting will take place on Sunday, October 30 at Culver City Veterans Memorial Auditorium, at 5:15 p.m, right before our Halloween Ball.

Please come to participate in our election and to find out more about our chapter activities. Be sure to stick around afterward to enjoy the dance!

2012-2012 Board Candidates:

Alexandra Caluen – Alexandra is a founding member of the USA Dance Los Angeles Chapter, is a DanceSport Athlete member of USA Dance, and has completed a teacher-training program with Ballroom Dance Academy. In 2010 and 2011 she organized our ballroom showcases. She has consistently demonstrated commitment and vision for the chapter. Alexandra is also a certified personal trainer, blogs about fitness and dancing at www.ombailamos.com and works full-time as a legal assistant.

Jerry Hernandez – Jerry has been dancing for more than 10 years.  He currently leads the chapter’s K-12 Program which teaches ballroom dance to students in the L.A. Community. In addition, he organizes our Dance Host program for our Social Dances, and is a great contributor to the chapter in general. He has also completed a Ballroom Teacher Training Program and teaches ballroom dancing at various venues around Los Angeles.

Herbert McGurk – Herb successfully served on our 2011 board as President, as Vice President in 2010, and on our 2008-2009 board as Treasurer. A real estate associate by profession, he uses his people skills to communicate his creative ideas to the board, its various committees, and the chapter in general. Herb says that serving gives him an opportunity to build creative ballroom dance programs in the community.

Kelly Richardson – Earlier this year, Kelly took over as coordinator for the USA Dance L.A. County Senior Outreach Committee, organizing performances for seniors at assisted living centers throughout the Los Angeles area. She has been a great addition to the chapter and we hope to welcome her to the 2012 Board. A dancer since age 3, she also teaches, performs, and competes in Salsa dancing.

Nancy Rincon – Nancy is a psychotherapist involved in community service as it relates to women and teenagers. She finds social dancing relaxing and fun. Nancy supports the goals of USA Dance and it is important to her to reach out to young people through dance. Nancy was a member of our 2010-2011 board where she  was responsible for organizing our volunteers who work at our social dances.
