USA Dance Los Angeles County

The K-12 committee is looking for any teachers in LA county (or members who know teachers) who might be interested in bringing ballroom dancing to their school.  We are piloting a program called Dancing Feet, that has been very successful in the High Desert for four years.  The targeted grades are 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th. The cost is minimal, as this program uses current school teachers and trains them to teach ballroom dance to students.  The program is ten weeks and culminates in selected students competing at the High Desert Dance Classic.  Besides the benefit of physical exercise, dancing improves social skills and poise, increases self confidence, develops teamwork and partnering skills.
