Alexandra and Phil Perform at 2009 Ballroom Showcase Spectacular

The 2009 Showcase Spectacular was a terrific time for dancers and patrons alike.  During the afternoon show we had over 40 pro-am performances, with dancers performing a variety of routines at all levels of experience.   Several hundred audience members were treated to beautiful dancing and enthusiastically showed their appreciation with applause, cheers and encouraging whistles. Our heartiest congratulations go to the dancers who performed in front of an audience, many for the first time, and did a magnificent job.  It isn’t easy to dance in front of spectators, even if they are friendly and enthusiastic, but our performers did it. Our sincere “Well done” to all!
 
In the evening segment, we held our dance party and witnessed a spectacular professional show which was inspirational.  Our event’s non-professional dancers had their names called off and received a memento of the event and last we gave away over $1,000 worth of door prizes, capping off a terrific night.
 
The videos taken of Acts I and II look terrific and there is still opportunity for people to purchase either or both DVDs from our web site. 

Best of all, we made sufficient funds to continue our middle school program at Carver Middle School in Inglewood, Los Angeles. This is going to make some young children extremely happy and we are excited, too.

We also want to acknowledge the wonderful volunteers behind the scenes who made the Showcase a success and my deep appreciation and thank you go to them.  The Showcase is certainly an event that we want to have again and we hope to see even more dancers in our next show.
